Hunterdon Health thrift shop donates $133,127 to foundation for patient support

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County)Yesterday’s Treasures, a thrift shop operated by volunteers in support of Hunterdon Health, has donated $133,127.45 to the Hunterdon Health Foundation to assist patients facing financial hardship.

The contribution was generated through store sales in 2025, made possible by volunteers who sort donated furniture, prepare home décor items and sell gifts at the shop.

The funds will support the foundation’s Patient Support Funds, which help individuals manage essential expenses during medical crises. The program provides assistance such as grocery gift cards and direct payments for utilities and other bills for patients receiving care at Hunterdon Health, including those at the Cancer Center.

Hospital officials said the funding is intended to help patients who are coping not only with health challenges but also with unexpected financial burdens, such as job loss or damage to a home.

By directing store proceeds to patient assistance, volunteers help ensure that medical emergencies do not become financial crises, the organization said.

Hunterdon Health Foundation supports programs and services that enhance patient care throughout the Hunterdon Health system.
