Littering leads to DWI arrest in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Police say a man tossing garbage out his car window wound up charged with DWI in Denville Township.

On Sept. 2, at around 11:48 a.m., the Denville Police stopped a motor vehicle on Mosswood Trail after observing garbage being thrown from the vehicle, police said.

During the subsequent investigation, the driver, identified as Felipe Flores, 51, of Dover, was determined to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Flores was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to possess an insurance card, throwing objects from a motor vehicle (littering), and possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
