Lopatcong mayor says no data center proposed or under consideration
LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Lopatcong Township Mayor Bill Wright is pushing back against online rumors regarding a potential data center project, saying no such proposal has been presented to township officials.
In a statement released May 23, Wright said misinformation circulating online falsely claims a data center is being planned for the township.
“In response to ongoing misinformation circulating online, I want to be clear: No developers have approached Lopatcong Township to build a data center, no data centers have been proposed, and none are being considered,” Wright said.
According to the statement, the Township Council is expected to review general planning recommendations during its June 3 meeting, but Wright emphasized that no data center development is part of those discussions.
“However, contrary to false claims, no data centers are considered for construction in Lopatcong Township,” Wright said.
Wright added that township officials remain committed to transparency and will continue providing accurate information to residents regarding municipal matters.
“Council remains committed to transparency and will continue to provide accurate information on all township matters,” the statement said.
