Lucky bird: Parrot reunited with owner after found in Morris County park
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – A parrot has been reunited with its owner after being found in a Morris County park on Saturday.
Morris County Sheriff’s Officer Ledet responded to a call at Hedden Park, which is a multi-use 420-acre park located in Dover, Mine Hill Township and Randolph Township, for a report of a loose parrot near the Concord Avenue parking lot, according to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, some park patrons were holding a large stick with the parrot perched on top.
“The parrot was frequently vocalizing laughter as he was moved safely to the parking area, the sheriff’s office said.
The parrot was then loaded into the back of the patrol vehicle for safekeeping. The local animal control officer assisted in locating the owner.
“Curiously, when the owner arrived and approached, the parrot began talking! The bird was returned to the owner and the reunion was complete. All in a days work,” the sheriff’s office said.
