Man allegedly brandished knife during dispute in Sussex County

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A dispute led to two people being charged in Sparta Township Saturday afternoon.

On June 15, at around 2:41 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Sagamore Trail between a resident and an unwanted guest, authorities said.

While on scene officers learned that Devon Webb, 24, of Kenilworth and a friend arrived at Alex Fudali’s residence to confront Fudali’s friend about texting Webb’s sister, police said.

During this confrontation, Webb, who was not wanted at the residence brandished a knife and made a threat. There was no physical altercation, police said.

Webb who was told to leave the property alleged attempted to “slash” the tires of the Fudali’s vehicle, police said.

During this time, Fudali came out of the house and allegedly struck the unwanted guests’ vehicle with his foot causing damage to the vehicle, police said.

Fudali, 25, was charged with criminal mischief.

Webb was charged with fourth-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree possession of a switchblade without a lawful purpose, and third-degree terroristic threats.

Both were released pending court appearances, police said.
