Man ejected from ATV on Route 46 in Warren County, airlifted to hospital

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A Newark man was airlifted to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after crashing an ATV on Route 46 in Warren County on Sunday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sgt. Charles Marchan.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 2:33 p.m. at milepost 1.8 on Route 46 westbound in Knowlton Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Ronald Avalos Rivera, 28, was operating an all-terrain vehicle westbound when he lost control and struck a guardrail. Rivera was ejected from the ATV upon impact, Marchan said.

He was flown to an area hospital for treatment, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
