Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash on Route 22 in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) — A motorcyclist remains in critical condition following a crash Thursday evening on Route 22 in Readington Township, according to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.

The crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Route 22 and School Road, near Berry Farm Road, officials said.

A sedan driven by Jonathan Ponulak, 62, of Whitehouse Station, crossed the intersection and collided with a motorcycle operated by Roberto Chaves-Rivas, 23, of Bridgewater Township, the prosecutor’s office said.

Chaves-Rivas was flown to Morristown Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. Ponulak was not injured, authorities said.

The crash is under investigation by the Readington Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
