NJ State Police vehicle, SUV collide on Route 206 in Sussex County

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A marked New Jersey State Police vehicle and a sport utility vehicle collided Friday evening on Route 206 in Sussex County, authorities said.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 7:18 p.m. Feb. 27 on Route 206 north near milepost 110.4 in Hampton Township, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Tpr. II Christopher Postorino.

A marked troop car was traveling northbound on Route 206 when a southbound Honda SUV made a left turn into its path, causing the vehicles to collide, according to a preliminary investigation.

Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
