Police conduct active shooter training at Clinton Township Middle School
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Clinton Township Police Department announced that 15 of Clinton police officers, along with 14 officers from various other agencies, recently completed a rigorous four-day active shooter training.
The Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (LASER) course was presented by Louisiana State University/National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (LSU/NCBRT) at the Clinton Township Middle School during their spring break and focused on training the officers in updated tactics for responding to an active assailant.
The officers honed their skills in breaching, moving as a group, room entry, threat recognition and life-saving first aid skills.
“I would like to thank instructor Cadre from LSU/NCBRT for providing this valuable training to the officers who attended and commend the officers who completed the course for their ongoing efforts to provide the best service they can to their communities by continuously training to keep our schools safe,” Clinton Township Police Chief Thomas DeRosa said.
