Police: Man shoplifted, spits in store owner’s face
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – An Essex County man is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly shoplifted and then spit in the store owner’s face in Denville Township, according to police.
On June 8, an officer responded to a local business for the report of an unruly patron. The suspect, later identified as Najee K. Brown, 30, of East orange, previously shoplifted items from the store and spit in the store owners face, police siad.
As officers attempted to make contact with Brown, he fled the scene on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Brown was caught and arrested, police said.
Brown was charged with shoplifting, disorderly conduct, obstruction, and resisting arrest by flight. He was then released pending a court appearance, police said.
