Powerball jackpot hits $501 million; Bergen, Morris County players win $100K prizes
NEW JERSEY — The Powerball jackpot climbed to $501 million after no player matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing, but several New Jersey players still claimed major prizes, lottery officials said.
The winning numbers were 07, 14, 23, 24 and 60. The Power Ball was 14, and the multiplier was 02.
Two players from Morris and Bergen counties matched four white balls, the Power Ball and the multiplier to each win $100,000. The Morris County ticket was sold at Hackettstown Exxon, 150 Route 46 in Mount Olive Township. The Bergen County ticket was purchased at Flavor Mart, 326 Garden Street in Carlstadt. Another New Jersey player matched four white balls and the Power Ball to win $50,000.
In the Double Play drawing, the winning numbers were 05, 22, 26, 29 and 40, with the Double Play ball 06. One New Jersey player won $50,000, and 12 others each won $500.
Saturday’s wins capped a strong week for New Jersey Lottery players. On Wednesday, a Bergen County player won $1 million at a Carlstadt Quick Chek, and a Sussex County player claimed $50,000 at a Newton Quick Chek.
The $501 million jackpot is the second largest of the year. The next Powerball drawing is Wednesday.
