Project Self-Sufficiency invites parents to advisory meeting

NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Parents are invited to share feedback on family needs and services at an upcoming advisory board meeting hosted by the Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency.

The Parent Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for April 14 at 5 p.m. at Project Self-Sufficiency, located at 127 Mill St. in Newton. The session will also be available via Zoom.

Organizers said the meeting will give parents an opportunity to discuss challenges facing their families, suggest future programs and connect with local service providers. Feedback gathered during the session will be used to help shape upcoming initiatives and resources.

Dinner and childcare will be provided for those attending in person, and participants attending their first meeting will be eligible to receive a gift card. Advance registration is required for in-person attendance.

“Input from parents is crucial to the success of the Family Success Center and we are excited about offering residents the opportunity to meet area providers, express their concerns about gaps in services, and identify strategies for moving forward,” remarked Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “The Family Success Center has supported Sussex County parents and children for many years, and we are looking forward to responding to the needs of area families and incorporating their suggestions into existing and new programs for the community.”

Officials said the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to ensure programs reflect the evolving needs of families in the region.
