Provident, Lakeland banks to close branches in Northwest New Jersey as a result of merger
NEW JERSEY – As a result of a merger last year between Provident Financial Services and Lakeland Bancorp, Inc, a combined 22 Provident and Lakeland bank locations across New Jersey will be closing.
“A careful and thorough review of our combined branch network was undertaken, and we have decided to close either a Provident branch or a Lakeland branch in cases where a single location can serve all of our customers,” according to Provident’s website.
Consolidations will begin on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024. Affected customers have been notified well in advance and offered multiple channels and resources to support their transition, the website said.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 customers may also bank at any of Provident’s 140 branches across our newly expanded network, or through their ProvidentConnect Online Banking and Mobile Banking platforms, the website said.
“We will continue our commitment to deliver exceptional customer experience through our team of dedicated employees,” the website said.
