Readington Township Police Department mourns loss of K-9 Agar

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Readington Township Police Department took to social media on Thursday to announce the death of K-9 Agar.

Agar, along with handler Sgt. Heycock graduated from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Canine Training Academy in 2017 with certifications in Patrol and Narcotics Detection.

While Agar was skilled in both disciplines, he excelled in his ability to track and is responsible for locating and apprehending countless people.

The department also extended condolences to Sgt. Heycock and his family during this time.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
