Retired Byram Township Police Chief Eskil “Skip” Danielson passes away

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Retired Byram Township Police Chief Eskil “Skip” Danielson has passed away, the police department announced on their Facebook page Monday.

Chief Danielson was Byram Township Police Department’s first full-time Chief of Police and dedicated his life to public service.

Danielson previously served as the Chief and President of the Lakeland Emergency Squad, was the Director of the Sussex County Office of Emergency Management and was previously a member of the NJ State Forest Fire Service.

“Byram Township was fortunate to have Chief Danielson as a member of its community and the Byram Township Police Department would like to express our condolences to his family, many of whom are also public service members and volunteers. Chief Danielson will be missed,” the department said.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
