Submissions now open for 37th Annual Skylands Juried Exhibition

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council (SCAHC) has announced that artist submissions are now open for the 37th Annual Skylands Juried Exhibition.

This prestigious event invites artists from across the Tri-State area to submit their work for consideration. The works chosen by the juror will be on display from May 20 to June 19, 2025, at SCAHC’s gallery in Newton.

Artists are encouraged to submit original works in any medium, including photography, painting, sculpture, and digital art. Both professional and non-professional artists, aged 18 and over, are eligible to apply. There is no specific theme for this exhibition, allowing artists the freedom to showcase their best and most recent work submissions must be created within the last three years. Cash prizes will be awarded to outstanding entries.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
