Sussex County man busted for possession of 1.9 pounds of MDMA

BLOOMINGDALE BOROUGH, NJ (Passaic County) – A Newton man has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as molly or ecstasy, in Passaic County, according to police.

The Bloomingdale Police Department Detective Bureau acted on credible information that led to an investigation conducted by members of the Bloomingdale Police Department, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations, police said.

The investigation led to the execution of a planned operation at a residence located on Star Lake Road in Bloomingdale Borough, police said.

The investigation was conducted on Feb. 12 and that ultimately led to the successful apprehension of Francisco Torres-Arroyo, 30, of Newton, police said.

Torres-Arroyo was found in possession of a package containing approximately 1.9 pounds of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) adulterated with Ketamine, with an estimated street value of approximately $65,000, police said.

Torres-Arroyo was charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute, second-degree distribution 500 feet of a public area, and third-degree possession of schedule I through IV narcotics.
