Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A traffic stop led to a drug arrest in Readington Township on Friday.

On April 12, at around 12:30 a.m., police responded to an aggressive driver traveling on Route 22 near County Line Road, police said.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle, driven by Michael Fittipaldi, 40, of Lebanon Borough, in the QuickChek parking lot, police said.

While the officers were speaking to Fittipaldi, police observed drug paraphernalia on the driver side floorboard and observed a bag of narcotics in his sweatshirt pocket, officials said.

Fittipaldi was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, possession of a prescription legend drug without a prescription and a motor vehicle summons for possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, police said.
