UPDATE: Female struck, injured by NJ Transit train in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A female was struck and injured Wednesday morning by a NJ Transit train in Hackettstown.

The female was hit by the Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 at around 8:24 a.m. east of High Street, NJ Transit spokesperson Jim Smith said.

The female, whose name was not released, was injured but the extent of her injuries was not known, Smith said.

Hackettstown police said the person was taken to an area hospital.

None of the four customers and crew aboard the train, which departed Hackettstown at 8:24 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 10:30 a.m., were injured, Smith said.

MOBO train #1074 was cancelled due to the pedestrian strike. Substitute bus service is being provided from Hackettstown to MSU. Transfer at MSU for rail service, NJ Transit said.

The crash remains under investigation by the New Jersey Transit Police.

“Expect a police presence in the area of the High St railroad crossing due to a pedestrian struck by a train. High St is open at this time,” Hackettstown police said in a Facebook post.
