
Wanted man gives false name, drugs found during traffic stop in Morris County
DENVILLE TOWSNHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Police say that a wanted man allegedly falsified his name and had drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Denville Township.
On Sept. 11, at around 11:15 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Route 53 southbound for multiple equipment violations, police said.
During the course of the stop, police discovered that the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Edwin Wendlocher, 31, of Lake Hopatcong, was allegedly in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, drug paraphernalia and provided the officer with a false name, police said.
Wendlocher was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of drug paraphernalia, maintenance of lamps, obstructed view, unregistered and uninsured Vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with CDS, police said.
Wendlocher also had two National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrants for his arrest out of Middlesex County, police said.
He was then lodged in the Morris County Jail, police said.
