Warren County Environmental Advisory Committee to host Sustainable Jersey forum on Oct. 16

WARREN COUNTY – The Warren County Environmental Advisory Committee is hosting a forum titled “Sustainable Jersey Discussion for Warren County” to focus on the benefits and steps toward achieving Sustainable Jersey certification for municipalities.

This certification opens doors for local governments by offering grants, training, and expert advice to help communities adopt sustainability measures. These efforts lead to reduced environmental impact, greater community involvement, access to additional funds, and overall improvements in the quality of life for residents.

Currently, only two municipalities in Warren County hold this certification, and the Environmental Advisory Committee aims to increase that number.

Municipal elected and appointed officials, along with other key figures including staff, are invited to join the conversation. Attendees can expect to hear more about the program, potential benefits to a certified municipality—including grants—how to pursue certification, challenges in doing so, and suggestions for meeting those challenges.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, 165 County Route 519, Belvidere.

RSVP by Oct. 9 by calling 908-451-2833. For more information on Sustainable Jersey, visit www.sustainablejersey.com.
