Warren County man arrested for DWI, assaulting police officer after crash

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Union County) – A Warren County man was arrested earlier this month after he was driving while intoxicated and assaulting an officer, police said.

On Feb. 10, officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Wabeno Avenue in Springfield Township, police said.

An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of the driver, a 35-year-old Stewartsville man, who was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

While in custody at police headquarters, the man, whose name was not released, allegedly assaulted an officer, authorities said.

He was additionally charged with aggravated assault, and obstructing the administration of law, police said.
