Warren County proclaims March 10-16 as Girl Scout Week

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – The Warren County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed March 10-16, 2024 as Girl Scout Week in Warren County.

One of the tenets of Girl Scouts of the USA is to provide civics programming that deepens a girl’s understanding of democracy and government, and a group of scouts got a first-hand look as the Warren County Board of County Commissioners recently honored the 112th anniversary of the organization, proclaiming March 10-16 as Girl Scout Week.

Ever since founder Juliette Gordon Low started the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, the organization has emphasized public service and civic engagement, and fostered a sense of community in girls.

Locally, some 233 girls across Warren County currently are served by the organization, and five of them, along with two leaders, received the proclamation from Commissioner Director James R. Kern III and Commissioners Jason J. Sarnoski and Lori Ciesla.
