1 flown to hospital, another injured in Route 22 crash in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A two-vehicle crash on Route 22 in Readington Township left one driver seriously injured Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Police, along with the Whitehouse Rescue Squad and Whitehouse Fire Company, responded around 4:26 p.m. to the intersection of Route 22 and Main Street (County Route 523) for a crash with reported injuries.

Police said the crash involved a 2025 Honda Accord driven by a 29-year-old woman from Pittstown and a 2021 Infiniti QX50 driven by a 58-year-old woman from Bayville.

The driver of the Infiniti sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by New Jersey State Police NorthSTAR to a trauma center. The Honda driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Readington Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Connor Strohm at (908) 534-4031.
