3 wanted for allegedly stealing, altering and depositing a Hunterdon County school board check worth more than $28K

FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Three suspects are wanted after allegedly stealing, altering and depositing a school board check worth more than $28,000, according to Flemington Borough police.

On September 9, police took a report from the Flemington Raritan School Board in reference to a fraudulent check, police said.

Police determined that a check sent out via US Mail from the Flemington Raritan School Board was stolen, altered and deposited into two separate bank accounts for a total loss of $28,700, police said.

During the month long investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Jabria Jones, 23, of Willingboro, NJ, Tynell Mantez, 27, of Camden, NJ and Kadaiyah Stevens-Whitehurst, 23, of Ladson, SC. All three have been entered as wanted persons, police said.

Jones and Stevens-­Whitehurst have been charged with receiving stolen property and theft. Mantez has been charged with receiving stolen property and uttering a forged document, police said.
