8-year-old boy fatally struck by SUV in Morris County

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ (Morris County) – An 8-year-old was struck and killed by an SUV in Morris County, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.

It happened at around 5:34 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 189 Littleton Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Carroll said.

A 2022 Mazda CX-5 was traveling on Littleton Road and struck the boy who was believed to be riding a bicycle at the time of the crash, Carroll said.

Paramedics from Denville Saint Clare’s and Par-Troy EMS responded to the scene and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene, Carroll said.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Carroll said.

“The incident remains under active investigation and no further information will be released at this time,” Carroll said.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department are participating in this investigation.
