Hunterdon County man gets 3 years in prison in child sexual abuse material case, prosecutor says

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A 34-year-old Alexandria Township man has been sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to charges involving possession of child sexual abuse material, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said Eduardo M. Duran-Carrasco was sentenced Jan. 12, 2026, by Superior Court Judge Christopher J. Garrenger. Robeson said Duran-Carrasco will be subject to Megan’s Law registration and parole supervision for life.

Robeson said the investigation began after a tip from the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

Authorities executed a court-authorized search warrant at Duran-Carrasco’s residence on April 12, 2024, and located child sexual abuse material, Robeson said. The search involved members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police Kingwood Barracks and the Sayreville Police Department, according to the prosecutor.

Robeson said Duran-Carrasco pleaded guilty in Hunterdon County to second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for possession of child sexual abuse material. He also pleaded guilty to second-degree endangering the welfare of a child related to charges in Middlesex County, Robeson said. Sentencing for both guilty pleas was consolidated in Hunterdon County.
