Weekday traffic flagging to resume at Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge starting Monday

FRENCHTOWN BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Motorists may experience brief traffic stoppages and delays on the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge beginning next week as work resumes on a rehabilitation project, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

Starting Monday, March 9, alternating single-lane travel controlled by flaggers may occur during weekday off-peak hours while crews complete remaining tasks tied to the project.

The traffic controls are expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and could continue into April.

Officials said the restrictions will allow contractors to finish work associated with the bridge rehabilitation and remove a temporary work platform installed beneath the bridge’s roadway deck.

All remaining construction activities are expected to be completed before the end of April, according to the commission.

Travel impacts are expected to be minor, but motorists should slow down, follow instructions from flaggers and use caution while traveling through the work area.

The schedule may change due to weather, emergencies or other factors, officials said.
