Man seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — A 62-year-old Hackettstown man suffered serious injuries Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Madison Street, authorities said.

Hackettstown police and the Hackettstown First Aid & Rescue Squad responded around 8:21 p.m. to the 600 block of Madison Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Officers began rendering aid upon arrival. A preliminary investigation determined the man was struck in the roadway while not in a crosswalk by a Mercedes driven by a 19-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, police said.

The 62-year-old was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center before being flown to Morristown Medical Center for further treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hackettstown Police Department Detective Bureau. Assisting at the scene were Saint Clare’s paramedics, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Crash Accident Reconstruction Team.
