NJ Lottery: Unclaimed Jersey Cash 5 prizes worth nearly $1.5 million remain in Hunterdon, Sussex counties

NEW JERSEY — New Jersey Lottery officials are urging players to check their tickets after announcing that two unclaimed Jersey Cash 5 winning tickets worth nearly $1.5 million in Hunterdon and Sussex counties are set to expire within weeks if they are not redeemed.

Lottery tickets expire one year after the drawing date.

Among the largest unclaimed prizes is a $1,148,993 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the Aug. 8, 2025, drawing. The winning ticket was sold at E & T Food Market, 462 River Styx Road, Hopatcong, and expires Aug. 8, 2026.

Another unclaimed Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth $342,777 was purchased at QuickChek No. 63, 410 Route 31 South, Ringoes. That ticket was drawn July 19, 2025, and expires July 19, 2026.

A third unclaimed prize, a $50,000 Powerball ticket, was sold at ShopRite, 877 St. George Ave., Woodbridge, following the Aug. 23, 2025, drawing. That ticket expires Aug. 23, 2026.

The New Jersey Lottery encourages players to check all tickets, noting that while unclaimed jackpot prizes are uncommon, many smaller winning tickets go unredeemed each year.

Players can check their tickets by scanning them at any New Jersey Lottery retailer, using the New Jersey Lottery mobile app or entering ticket numbers manually at NJLottery.com/TicketChecker.
