Ambulance involved in three-vehicle crash on Route 206 in Sussex County; several injured

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP N.J. (Sussex County) — A three-vehicle crash involving an ambulance on Route 206 in Sussex County left several people with minor injuries Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Troopers responded at about 12:08 p.m. to the crash near milepost 118.8 in Frankford Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Christopher Postorino.

A preliminary investigation found that a Ford ambulance struck the rear of a Mazda SUV while both were traveling south, police said. After the initial impact, a Ford SUV collided with the rear of the ambulance.

The driver and four occupants of the Mazda, along with the driver and two occupants of the ambulance, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
