DELAWARE WATER GAP NATIONAL RECREATION AREA — National Park Service officials have reopened seasonal areas across the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and implemented expanded amenity fees as the busy season begins.
As of April 15, all winter closures have been lifted, with expanded fees now in effect through Columbus Day at several high-traffic locations, including Turtle Beach, Smithfield Beach, Bushkill Access, Dingmans Access and Milford Beach.
Daily entrance fees are $10 per vehicle, while seasonal passes cost $45, with discounted passes available for seniors and military members. Officials said tiered pricing applies after the first pass is purchased.
Several roads, parking areas and recreation sites are now open for the season, including George W. Childs Park, Raymondskill Upper Parking Area, portions of Old Mine Road, Skyline Drive to Crater Lake and Mountain Road near Walpack.
However, some closures remain in place due to ongoing construction projects. The Dingmans Falls Visitor Center, surrounding access roads, parking area and trails remain closed for bridge replacement and trail repairs. A section of Old Mine Road between Route 206 and Jager Road is also closed for repaving work.
Officials encourage visitors to plan ahead and check current conditions before visiting as the recreation area enters its peak season.
