Fundraiser launched to help family rebuild farm after fire destroys barn

LONG VALLEY, N.J. (Morris County) — A fundraising campaign has been launched to help a family rebuild after a fire destroyed a barn and displaced residents and animals on a long-standing family farm in Long Valley.

Elizabeth Tranquilli, who organized the GoFundMe campaign, said the fire significantly impacted her parents, who have lived on the farm for more than 50 years. The blaze destroyed the barn, which housed her father’s business equipment and provided shelter for animals on the property.

The fire also displaced tenants who had been living in a carriage house on the farm, according to the fundraiser.

Organizers said donations will be used to help rebuild the barn, restore shelter for the animals and assist in rehousing tenants who have lived on the property for years.

Tranquilli said the family is seeking community support as they work to recover from the loss and rebuild the farm. To contribute, visit the GoFundMe page.
