Hackettstown launches ‘Spook the House’ contest to celebrate Halloween spirit

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Residents in Hackettstown are gearing up for a spooky competition.

“Spook the House” is a contest sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department and the Hackettstown Business Improvement District, aimed at bringing Halloween spirit to the community.

The contest will cover several sections, including Willow Grove, Centenary, West Valley View Ave/East Prospect St, Mitchell Road, and College View.

To participate, decorations must be displayed by Oct. 27, with judging taking place on Oct. 28 and 29 as Hackettstown police officers patrol the neighborhoods. Winners will be notified on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Prizes will be awarded to the homes showcasing the most original and spooky outdoor decorations, with one winner selected from each section.
