Hunterdon County Commissioners celebrate rededication and lighting of New Hope-Lambertville Bridge

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Commissioner Director John E. Lanza, along with fellow Commissioners Jeff Kuhl, Susan J. Soloway, and Zach Rich, joined state officials, community leaders, residents, and visitors on April 1 to celebrate the rededication and lighting ceremony of the historic New Hope-Lambertville Bridge.

This landmark event highlighted the bridge’s storied legacy as a vital link between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, serving as a symbol of unity and shared heritage.

Commissioner Director John Lanza shared, “This bridge is more than just a crossing – it’s a testament to the strength of our community and the enduring partnership we share with our neighbors across the Delaware River. Tonight’s celebration honors our history and paves the way for future generations to appreciate this remarkable connection.”

The ceremony included remarks from local leaders, a countdown to the ceremonial lighting, and a celebratory gathering featuring music and refreshments. The newly illuminated bridge now shines as a stunning symbol of resilience, history, and partnership.

“It was a privilege to be a part of this evening’s event, celebrating the refurbishment of a structure that has not only withstood the test of time but has also served as a vital piece of infrastructure linking New Jersey and Pennsylvania for decades,” Lanza said.

The Hunterdon County Commissioner Board extends its gratitude to everyone involved in making the rededication ceremony a success. The event underscored the county’s commitment to honoring its past while fostering connections that will light the path to the future.
