Hunterdon County man sentenced to 5 years in prison in child sexual abuse material case, prosecutor says
BLOOMSBURY BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A Bloomsbury man has been sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty in a case involving child sexual abuse material and endangering the welfare of children, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said.
Robeson said Seth Maguire, 29, was sentenced Jan. 12, 2026, by Superior Court Judge Christopher J. Garrenger. Robeson said Maguire will also be subject to Megan’s Law registration and parole supervision for life.
The sentence followed a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police’s Perryville Station, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky, and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, Robeson said.
Robeson said the investigation began after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip led the prosecutor’s office Forensic Services Unit to an investigation that resulted in Maguire’s arrest, she said.
Maguire pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of children for possession of child sexual abuse material and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of children for sexual conduct with a child, Robeson said.
