Lt. Jeffery Glennon retires from Clinton Township Police Department after decades of service
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Clinton Township Police Department is recognizing the retirement of Lt. Jeffery Glennon after more than two decades of service in law enforcement.
Glennon, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, began his policing career with the Town of Clinton Police Department before joining the Clinton Township Police Department, where he rose through the ranks and ultimately served as Operations Division commander.
Police officials said Glennon built a distinguished career marked by professionalism, integrity and dedication to public service.
Chief Thomas DeRosa praised Glennon’s contributions to the department and community.
“Lt. Glennon was not only a great police officer, but honest, loyal and hard working. He cared deeply about police work and his professionalism will be hard to replace,” DeRosa said.
Throughout his career, Glennon served in a variety of assignments and played a key role in patrol operations, fatal crash investigations and public safety initiatives. Officials said his leadership and steady presence helped guide the department through the evolving challenges of modern policing.
Colleagues described Glennon as a mentor, trusted leader and friend who was committed to helping develop the next generation of officers.
Police officials said his dedication to the profession and service to the community left a lasting impact on the department and the residents of Clinton Township.
In announcing his retirement, the department thanked Glennon for his years of sacrifice, leadership and service.
“Today, we thank Lt. Glennon for his years of sacrifice, leadership, and distinguished service. His career reflects the very best of law enforcement and the values of honor, professionalism, and dedication that define this profession,” the department said in a statement.
The department also extended its best wishes to Glennon and his family as he begins retirement.
“Thank you for your service, Lieutenant Glennon. You will always be a part of the Clinton Township Police Department family,” the department said.
