
Man facing drug, DWI charges following traffic stop in Morris County
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County man is facing several charges including driving while intoxicated and drug possession following a traffic stop last month in Randolph Township, according to police.
On Nov. 28, police responded to a call regarding a possible intoxicated driver traveling westbound on Route 10. The vehicle was observed exhibiting signs consistent with driving under the influence as it entered Randolph Township, police said.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of a Wawa in Randolph Township, where further investigation revealed the driver, identified as Benjamin Pravata, 37, of Randolph Township, was allegedly intoxicated. Pravata was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. During the investigation, additional intoxicants were discovered inside the vehicle, police said.
Pravata was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to observe traffic lanes, reckless driving, and careless driving. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
