MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – As Morris County marks the 40th anniversary of the disappearance of Edward Lawrence DuBarry, local authorities are renewing their call for public assistance in the ongoing investigation, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

Authorities are seeking any information that could help locate the Montville Township man, who was last seen in 1984.

DuBarry, who was 36 years old at the time, was last seen on the morning of September 7, 1984, at his home near Church Lane and Two Bridges Road in Towaco. His vehicle, a 1974 Chevrolet pickup truck, was found abandoned on September 14, 1984, at Resort Point in the Delaware Water Gap.

It was later used at a truck stop in Columbia, NJ, and a gas station in Matamoras, PA. Four days later, it was used again at a gas station in Pompton Plains.

Described as a white male with blue eyes, DuBarry would be 76 years old today. At the time of his disappearance, he was approximately 5’5” tall, weighed around 140 pounds, and had brown hair. He has notable scars on his chin, right elbow, and finger.
