Morris County honors Denville volunteer firefighters for decades of service

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Six members of the Denville Volunteer Fire Department were recognized for their years of service during the department’s annual Years of Service celebration Saturday at Casa Bianca in Oak Ridge.

Morris County Commissioner Deborah Smith attended the event and presented certificates on behalf of the Morris County Board of County Commissioners honoring the firefighters for their dedication to the department and the community.

Honorees included James Crothers, recognized for 50 years of service; Herbert Trillich, recognized for more than 40 years of service; and Richard Yobs, Christina Kovacs, Kevin Andreano and Rich Andes, each recognized for 20 years of service.

Together, the six honorees represent more than 175 years of combined service to the Denville Volunteer Fire Department.

Yobs also serves as a senior public safety telecommunicator with the Morris County Communications Center, while Kovacs is a detective captain with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.

County officials thanked the firefighters for their commitment to public safety and their contributions to the Denville community.
