Morris County man arrested on endangering the welfare of a child, lewdness charges following online chats with 9-year-old boy
HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County man has been arrested on endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness charges following online chats with a 9-year-old boy in Hanover Township, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.
Brian J. Cariddi, 39, of Hanover Township has been charged in connection with alleged multiple online communications between Dec. 11, 2022, and Jan. 10, 2023 with a boy located in North Carolina, Carroll said.
Cariddi is alleged to have engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the boy, exposed his intimate parts during online conversations, and asked the boy to send images of the child’s intimate parts, Carroll said.
“The incident remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. The name and identity of the victim will not be released,” Carroll said.
Cariddi was arrested on March 8 and charged with second-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child – production of CSAM, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child – sexual conduct, and fourth-degree lewdness.
Cariddi has been detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings, Carroll said.
