New craft-focused creative space opens in Washington Borough
WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — A new creative space designed to bring together residents of all ages has opened in Washington Borough.
The Village Craft House, located at 5 Star Plaza off West Church Street, held its grand opening April 11. The business is intended as a welcoming place where people can gather to make, learn and connect.
Owner Catherine Golden said the space offers a variety of hands-on opportunities for individuals and families.
“We offer crafting supplies, 3-D printing services, and down the road, classes and hands-on workshops designed to help people explore new skills and creative ideas,” said Golden. “Right now children, adults and families can come and participate hourly or longer. We want to make it easy for people to be creative, not have to spend a lot of money on supplies, and purposedly make it an affordable experience for everyone.”
The Village Craft House can assist patrons in creating items such as T-shirts, 3D designs and other custom projects, with plans to expand offerings in the future.
Golden said sustainability is a key part of the business.
“Sustainability is at the heart of what we do,” said Golden. “We believe in reusing, repurposing, and keeping usable supplies and tools out of landfills whenever possible. A ‘worn’ item doesn’t mean it’s done — sometimes it just needs a little creativity and love!”
Local officials joined Golden for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening.
Golden emphasized the business’s role in the community.
“We’re excited to be part of this community and to grow alongside it,” said Golden. “We truly believe it takes a village to craft a community, and we can’t wait to welcome you in.”
