No injuries after 2-alarm fire in Hunterdon County

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) — No injuries were reported after a two-alarm fire Saturday evening in Hunterdon County.

On Oct. 19, just before 6:00 p.m., multiple fire companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Old York Road in Raritan Township.

Due to the location and conditions, a second alarm was issued, bringing additional resources to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames emanating from both the first and second floors of the building. Patrol officers informed the firefighters that all occupants had safely evacuated the house.

Firefighters quickly entered the structure to begin suppression efforts. Crews were dispatched to the roof to initiate vertical ventilation, while additional hose lines were put into service by responding companies as the fire spread up the walls and into the second floor due to the building’s construction.

Both primary and secondary searches were conducted, confirming that no victims or pets were trapped inside. The fire was contained and the structure was preserved. No injuries reported among victims or first responders, officials said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
