State police report arrests, seizures in statewide crime reduction operations
NEW JERSEY — The New Jersey State Police announced the results of a series of enforcement operations conducted from January through mid-March aimed at reducing violent crime and disrupting organized criminal activity statewide.
According to officials, the State Police Intelligence Section and Investigations Branch carried out 21 coordinated operations in multiple cities, working alongside specialized units and partner law enforcement agencies.
In January and February, the efforts led to 169 arrests, the seizure of 35 firearms and the recovery of 64 stolen vehicles. Authorities also seized approximately 30 kilograms of cocaine and heroin and about $430,000 in suspected illicit proceeds.
Additional operations in early March resulted in 45 more arrests, along with the seizure of 19 weapons and the recovery of additional narcotics and stolen property.
State police said the initiatives are part of ongoing intelligence-driven strategies aimed at dismantling criminal networks.
Officials reported that the efforts have contributed to a 31% reduction in shooting victims statewide, along with declines in stolen vehicles and carjackings compared with the previous year.
