Warren County Commissioner Lori Ciesla announces bid for third term

WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — Warren County Commissioner Lori Ciesla announced Tuesday that she is seeking a third term on the Warren County Board of County Commissioners.

Ciesla was first elected in 2020, re-elected in 2023 and currently serves as commissioner director.

“I am deeply honored to have earned the trust of Warren County residents during my time in office,” Ciesla said. “Our Board has worked tirelessly to preserve the rural character, fiscal strength, and quality of life that make Warren County special. I am running for a third term to continue building on these successes, ensuring responsible governance, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and providing improved services for all our residents, from Hardwick to Pohatcong.”

Ciesla cited several accomplishments during her tenure and that of the current board, including what she described as strong fiscal management while maintaining essential county services, securing grant funding to expand high-speed internet access in rural and underserved areas, and efforts to protect the county’s rural character through farmland preservation, open space initiatives and historic preservation grants.

She also pointed to initiatives supporting tourism and local businesses, as well as public safety and community services, including advocacy for state funding for the county’s 911 Communications Center, improvements to human services facilities, and support for addiction and mental health services. According to Ciesla, the board has also supported county education programs and workforce development efforts.

Looking ahead, Ciesla said her priorities include continued farmland and open space preservation, increased support for farmers and agribusinesses, expanded recreational opportunities, and enhanced support for tourism and local businesses through a revamped Tourism and Economic Development Committee. She also said she wants to expand the use of technology to improve efficiency in serving county residents.

Ciesla emphasized collaboration with officials at all levels of government as a key part of her approach.

“I am pleased to have the support of so many of our elected officials, including our NJ Senators Steinhardt and Space, Assemblywoman Fantasia, Assemblymen DiMaio, Peterson, and Inganamort, my fellow County Commissioners Kern and Sarnoski, as well as officials in every town in Warren County,” she said. “Together, we can keep Warren County moving forward with fiscal discipline, smart growth, and a commitment to every resident.”
