Bomb threat at Hunterdon County high school deemed unfounded after lockdown; investigation ongoing

LEBANON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A reported bomb threat and swatting incident at Voorhees High School prompted a lockdown Monday morning before police determined the school was safe, authorities said.

According to the Lebanon Township Police Department, officers responded to the school at about 10:59 a.m. after receiving a report of a bomb threat/swattng incident.

Police said responding officers immediately secured the school and implemented established safety protocols. A lockdown was initiated while officers conducted interior and exterior searches of the building and surrounding property.

Authorities said the searches resulted in negative findings.

Following the coordinated search efforts, the lockdown was lifted and the school was deemed safe for students, faculty and staff, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
