A Free and Interactive Evening for Students, Adult Learners and Working Professionals
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ – County College of Morris (CCM) is excited to announce “Data Science Night: Data Under the Stars,” an interactive event aimed at demystifying data science and artificial intelligence. Scheduled for Thursday, November 14, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., this free event welcomes students ages 15 and up, including adult learners and working professionals.
As data science continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing career fields, with job opportunities projected to increase by 36% by 2031, CCM is committed to equipping its graduates with the skills needed to excel in this competitive market. The median salary for data science positions exceeds $100,000, making it an attractive career path for many.
During the evening, attendees will have the chance to participate in hands-on workshops covering essential topics, including Data Visualization with Tableau, Natural Language Processing in Python, Excel Data Analysis, and RStudio Statistical Analysis. The event will also feature a special presentation in CCM’s Longo Planetarium, showcasing “Illustris Data Under the Dome,” which explores a universe of data beneath a starry sky.
Professor Nancy E. Binowski from CCM’s Department of Information Technologies emphasized the importance of data science and AI in today’s society. “We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what AI can do for us. Diverse industries are quickly embracing AI to enhance every facet of their business. Join us to discover how you can be part of this exciting evolution!”
In addition to the workshops, participants can learn about CCM’s data analytics certificate—a flexible five-course program that can be completed in two semesters and applied toward an Associate of Science degree in Data Science. Representatives from NJIT and Rowan University will also be present to discuss transfer options for students wishing to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
