Firefighters battle 2-alarm fire Tuesday in Washington Township, Warren County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) –  Firefighters extinguished a 2-alarm fire Tuesday morning at a residence in Washington Township.

On April 8, at around 10:04 a.m., the Washington Township Fire Department (WTFD) was dispatched to a working structure fire in the 100 block of East Front Street, authorities said.

Upon arrival, first responders encountered heavy fire and smoke in the residence, as well as in a nearby detached garage. The fire department requested a first box alarm for additional resources. Later, a second-alarm was called for further manpower.

Firefighters from several area departments assisted with fire suppression, ventilation, and overhaul efforts to bring the situation under control.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, and it is unknown if there were any injuries.
