Fryer fire temporarily closes Hunterdon County ShopRite

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A small fire early Sunday morning briefly closed ShopRite at 50 Walmart Plaza in Franklin Township.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5:37 a.m. to a reported fire in the kitchen at the ShopRite, the Quakertown Fire Company said.

Crews arrived on scene and found a fire in a fryer that was quickly extinguished. Firefighters then ventilated some smoke, authorities said.

ShopRite reopened shortly after 11:00 a.m.
