Man wanted on shoplifting charge arrested in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Denville Township traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on a shoplifting charge out of Clifton, according to police.

On March 4, police were conducting a traffic detail in the area of Route 10, when they observed a Buick Encore traveling at 85 mph in a 50 mph zone, authorities said.

The vehicle was then stopped and during an investigation, the driver, who was identified as Peter Fitzsimmons, 45, of Wayne Township, was found to be wanted out of Clifton for shoplifting, police said.

Fitzsimmons was then arrested and processed for his warrant, where he was ultimately turned over to the Clifton Police Department, authorities said.

Fitzsimmons was charged in Denville Township with speeding, careless driving, and failure to possess driver’s license and registration, police said.
